Get ready to tap your toes: This Month on Mountain Stage
West Virginia’s prestigious live radio show – broadcast throughout the US on hundreds of stations has another eclectic month planned.
Hitting the Cultural Center Stage in Charleston on Sept. 16 is BKO, a quintet from Bamako, Mali who perform a mixture of genres sure to get audiences dancing. BKO will be joined by Josh Rouse, an accomplished singer/songwriter who has been steadily releasing acclaimed records since his debut in 1998. Three more opening bands will be announced later.
On September 23rd, 2018 Amanda Shires, a singing, songwriting, fiddle-playing Texan, will be headlining. She will be joined by folk artist Israel Nash, who recently released the acclaimed album Lifted. Also, on stage will be Teitur, Byron Isaccs and one more band TBA.
Doors for both shows will open at 6:30 PM with the show starting promptly at 7:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased in advance from Taylor Books on Capitol St. in downtown Charleston, WV or online through Mountainstage.org.
September’s podcast releases of previous shows include Lee Ann Womack, Caitlyn Smith, The Travelin’ McCourys, Haley Heynderickx and Anthony da Costa on September 7th, 2018; The Wood Brothers, Todd Snider, Dave Alvin, Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Kat Wright and guest host Peter Mulvey on September 14th, 2018; and Hiss Golden Messenger, Kris Delmhorst, Nicki Bluhm, Teddy Thompson and The Parachute Brigade on September 21st, 2018.
