So there’s this band you’ve probably never heard of, Gorillaz. It’s like a cartoon band, man!

I’ve never been a huge Gorillaz fan. That’s not to say I dislike them. I just don’t love them, which a band like Gorillaz seems to aspire to. Mostly I keep buying their albums because of all the goodwill Damien Albarn sewed in me with Blur.

But I’ve really been digging the new album, with its more electronic focus. I’m particularly drawn toward the more subdued tracks like "On Melancholy Hill," which has a very Flaming Lips feel to it. Anyway, check it out.
