Bowerbirds often get lumped into the freak-folk category with Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom, but much of their latest album, "Upper Air," from which "Beneath Your Tree," comes, is much more accessible folk.

The tune and album from this North Carolian band is a year old by now, but this song has been in steady rotation since then.

Featuring an acoustic guitar and accordion, the ominious tones coming from the track dispel the sweet and gentle lyrics of love. On a spring day — nay, week — filled with nothing but gray skies and rain drops, this is a perfect companion.
