‘We Are Marshall’ Voted Nation’s Favorite Football Film
Bring on the Herd; Congratulations, “We Are Marshall” has become the nation’s favorite football film. Competing against 15 other football oriented movies, thousands of film fans have spoken.
The inspirational story of Marshall University football’s rise from the ashes of the 1970 plane crash has officially bested Notre Dame’s “Rudy” by an overwhelming 93-7 percent to win the Tribecca/ESPN Fan’s Favorite Football Flick.
Prior to the final round, “We Are Marshall” beat out “Friday Night Lights,” “Remember the Titans,” and “The Longest Yard.”
According to the Tribeca Film Festival site, “You made the call … thousands of people have chosen their favorite football flick. The stirring ‘We Are Marshall’ handily won over perennial underdog, ‘Rudy,’ who was left manning the benches. Come out to celebrate the end of day one of the NFL Draft and watch, root and cheer for ‘We Are Marshall’ under the stars…”
