Time warping again two nights only in Huntington
Halloween weekend marks the 35th anniversary in the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” interactive midnight traditions of dressing up, tossing props, and dancing in the “Time Warp” in a theatre aisle.
Downhome Decadence returns to the Downtown Discount Cinema, 1023 Fourth Ave., following a two-year interactive run with “RHPS.”
“We are very thankful to have been asked to return to the Cinema Theatre for two nights Halloween weekend,” stated David Driskell, the Downhome Decadence founder.
Performances will be Friday and Saturday at midnight Halloween weekend. Admission is $6.
Costume contests will be held both nights and a DVD player and other prizes will be awarded.
The two-night gig comes on Marshall’s Homecoming weekend.
Driskell recalled that in the 1980s “many people used to set up a screen on Buskirk Field” and watch “Rocky Horror.”
Should “Frank-n-Furter,” “Riff-Raff,” Brad and Janet not turn you on, “Little Shop of Horrors,” which features a man-eating Venus fly-trap (known as Audrey II) will be on stage at the Pullman Playhouse in the Pullman Plaza Hotel.
Driskell said this is a “one time only” revival at the Downtown Discount Cinema.
