‘Bitches Make Me Tired’ offers good advice
New York Times bestselling author Celia Rivenbark releases another book full of Southern girl wisdom, this time in the form of a modern etiquette book (with a bit of profanity) in “Rude Bitches Make Me Tired.”
Rivenbark goes beyond “which fork do I use at a fancy dinner party” questions to ones you may be more likely to encounter, like how to handle the check so you don’t end up paying for your friend’s overpriced wine that you didn’t drink, do you really need to wear all black to a funeral? and which is YOUR armrest in the plane?
There’s plenty of laugh out loud moments and stories in the book. Whether it’s dealing with Recline Monsters who put their seat down in a plane because “it’s there and why shouldn’t I?” to stupid icebreaker questions at dinner parties like, “three people living or dead you’d want to invite?” And apparently no, Miley Cyrus isn’t a good answer, the only good ones are dead relatives and Gandhi.
There’s answers on dealing with gym etiquette like appropriate attire, cell phone use (really you have to talk during Pilates?), lurking vs. hogging machines and more.
There’s also answers for dealing with parents of newborns, should you ever ask if someone is pregnant? (Answer: NO) and is having a third baby shower for your third child all that bad (Answer: YES.)
There’s even etiquette questions for dealing with your significant other, PDAs – how much is too much, and dealing with office politics.
There is a good section on discussing politics (you really shouldn’t because it’s personal business), how to give and receive compliments, dealing with road rage and Facebook etiquette that probably everyone should read!
This is a funny book that actually does give good advice, in between all of the humor.
