Adele makes comeback with new album ‘30’
Adele is one of the greatest modern artists and after several years without her gracing the world with her music, she is back.
For the first time since 2015, Adele released new music with her single “Easy On Me,” which came out last month. Shortly before the single, billboards were seen around the world announcing her album “30,” which came out Nov. 19.
Although Adele is known to be a pretty private person, she tends to open up when it comes to the events in her life that led to her gut wrenching, raw and real music. Several people criticize Adele for only writing music when she’s going through a break-up and they say her songs are “too depressing.”
To me, that is one of the many things that made Adele fantastic and one-of-a-kind. Sure, it’s nothing new for artists to use a breakup as inspiration to write music, but the way Adele puts those emotions into lyrics is something special.
A combination of the incredible lyrics and the music blending with it is just flawless. Earlier this month, Adele recorded a concert that was released on tv titled “One Night Only.” During the show, she sang a few new songs and some old favorites.
Aside from the incredible venue in Los Angeles and her stunning dress, the Adele’s voice and music stole the show. Throughout most of the performance, the only accompanying instrument was a piano-and that’s all she needed.
Her voice is like none other; it’s rich with a little bit of rasp and the way she performs, you can see the emotion on her face. I even saw a video of her crying in the middle of a performance. When you put together her voice, the lyrics, the music and her performance, it’s something unforgettable. I had tears rolling more than once when I watched “One Night Only.”
An interview she did with Oprah was woven into the tv special where she talked about some of the personal experiences behind the new album. It’s refreshing to hear a celebrity talk about real life and to know that they are people just like us.
She mentioned the guilt she felt with her divorce and her worry of how it would affect her son. While I tend to not care about celebrities’ personal lives, it’s interesting to learn where music comes from and what inspired the artist.
By sharing her experiences, Adele is able to connect with her listeners and through her process of healing, her music could possibly help to heal other people around the world.
With the new album, streamed concerts and interviews, Adele’s comeback is fierce. While a big question is whether or not she can write music in a ‘happy’ headspace, it doesn’t matter, it’s still going to be perfection. She can do no wrong.
