OrViLL REX, a psychedelic circus of rock

By Staff | Oct 6, 2016

Orvill Rex is a band based out of Morgantown, playing a mixture of traditional rock ‘n’ roll and 70s psychedelic Rock.

The group, made up of George Durbin, bass; Phillip Smallwood II, guitar and vocals; Dave Brown, guitar and vocals; and Keidan Michaels, drums, vocals, has been a band for a little over a year now and have traveled all over West Virginia and even ventured into Pittsburgh to try to get their name out.

Said Durbin, “We are a small band with big dreams filled with hot air balloons, fairy tales, and rock ‘n’ roll!”

Oct. 8, the band will unveil its debut album titled, “Rock It To Wonderland” at 123 Pleasant Street in Morgantown, with Byron Nash from Pittsburgh and another local Morgantown band, Dogs Without Horses.

“Our album is full of all original music written by each member of Orvill Rex,” said Durbin. “We describe ourselves as a Psychedelic Rock n’ Roll Circus and we tried to capture that feeling with our debut album.”

The band will also be featured at this year’s ShockaCon Horror and Sci-Fi convention at Beni Kedem Shrine Center in Charleston.
