Huntington’s Discount Cinema Slates Flashbacks, Re-Books “Rocky Horror”

August 16, 2010
By Tony Rutherford

Huntington’s Discount Cinema Theatre will again be time warping at midnight on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.

DownHome Decadence, which performed the pre-show for over two years, will return to host the Halloween special.

“Rocky Horror Picture Show” has been a Marshall University and Huntington staple. The interactive film presentation encourages the audience to join the party and dress as characters from the movie.

In addition, the Discount Cinema, 1023 Fourth Ave., has announced its fall slate of Flashback movies, including an Alfred Hitchcock double feature --- “Psycho” and “The Birds” --- which will run Oct. 22-28 in high definition.

Meanwhile, Elvis will be in the building Sept. 12-13. No, not an impersonator! The film will be “Elvis on Tour,” which screens at 4 p.m. Sunday and at 4 and 7 p.m. Monday.

Admission to Flashback High Definition flicks are $5.

Others on the Flashback schedule: John Hughes’ “Sixteen Candles,” John Carpenter’s original “Halloween,” Bogart in “Maltese Falcon,”  Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange,” and two iconic Mel Brooks '70s comedies, “Young Frankenstein” and “Blazing Saddles.”
