Paula Abdul leaves American Idol, is Victoria Beckham next in line?

• As the dust settles on the shocking departure of Paula Abdul, 47, from next season's American Idol, now comes confirmation from Victoria Beckham's publicist that the former Posh Spice, 35, will make a "one-off appearance" as a guest judge on the top-rated FOX show, reports Britain's Sky News.

Just don't expect Beckham to take up a permanent perch next to judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi -- as she reportedly doesn't wish to take time away from overseeing her fashion line.

• Chris Kattan — who? OK, good point — is trying to revive his career via Bollywood Hero. What? OK, we get it.

• Move aside Jack White, another rock supergroup is forming, this one featuring Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones and Josh Homme.

• ESPN has a nice feature on an 81-year-old NASCAR driver. When we're 81, we'll be lucky to finish the pudding in time for Saved by the Bell re-runs.

• GlyphJockey is our Web site of the week. What is it? It's an amalgam of old comics. It's bizarre, trippy and loads of fun.

• The NYT has a slideshow of Michaelangelo's first painting, "The Torment of Saint Anthony," which shows that boys of 12 and 13 will always be fascinated by awesome.
