Blogging West Virginia

By Bryan Stealey
POSTED: May 12, 2008

The Blogosphere is huge and getting bigger every day, and thousands of those bloggers live right here in the Mountain State. Follow the Blog Roll as we take a quick spin through a handful of some of the more interesting ones. We’ll start in Charleston, where commercial photographer Rick Lee takes us On Location (rickleephoto.blogspot.com) with some really amazing work. This guy finds beauty in unexpected places and shares it here every day. While we’re in the state capital, let’s swing by Carpe You Some Diem! (rebeccaburch.com), where teacher and artist Rebecca Burch proves that art education in our schools is alive and well. Don’t miss the musings of The Backwoods Drifter (wvbackwoodsdrifter.com), where Denny takes us on a tour of West Virginia’s natural beauty while crusading against mountain-top removal. Some of the most interesting blogs are also random, like Huntington-based Chris James’ A Sour Apple Tree (sourappletree.blogspot.com), which shows what happens when you watch too much TV. At least he peels himself away from the tube often enough to entertain us here. We’ll end this inaugural ride on Graffiti’s own site (grafwv.com), where six different blogs touch on everything from adventure to society to entertainment. Now go get your blog on.
