Great Commercials — Icing on the Cake

July 16, 2008

It seems like nobody talks about commercials outside the Super Bowl. They’ve fascinated me since I was a kid. Commercials not only tell me what I’m supposed to think about a product — they also tell me what the company thinks about its own product. Sometimes, if I don’t see a certain product’s commercial for years, I wonder, “Aren’t they behind their own product anymore?”

Of course, local commercials are always a treasure trove of silliness. May 20, 2008

By Tamar Alexia Fleishman

The programming directors — with their big fat cigars, feet up on a desk, throwing darts at a weekly schedule (yeah, I have a vivid imagination) are making me crazy. Or maybe, they’re ma

Going for that ‘Eternal Youth’ Look

May 7, 2008

Way above and beyond Hollywood’s call to look eternally young, some actors and actresses now look like silly putty that’s been misshapen and stretched. I’ve done a casual and completely unscientific survey of some very cool men and women I know — and
