Willie's Coming to Charleston

Music Legend Willie Nelson just added as a Clay Center special event performance
Single tickets for this show go on sale August 1

(Charleston, W.Va.) 7/23/08 – Joining the Clay Center’s exciting 2008-09 performance lineup is country music superstar Willie Nelson & Family. This special event performance will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

With seven Grammy Awards, including the 2008 Grammy for “Best Country Collaboration with Vocals,” more than 200 albums and countless concerts across America under his belt, Willie Nelson is a living legend. Guests will experience an incredible concert full of the “outlaw” country that Nelson is famous for, including hits like “On the Road Again,” “Georgia on My Mind” and “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys.”

“We are thrilled to have Willie Nelson perform at the Clay Center. He is a country music icon, and his songs have a wide appeal to audiences,” said Clay Center President and CEO Judy Wellington. “We anticipate that tickets to this show will sell quickly.”

Patrons with season and Pick4 tickets have first priority to buy tickets to this special event. Season ticket or Pick 4 packages are still available through the Clay Center box office. Single ticket sales to the general public for Willie Nelson begin Friday, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. Tickets are $30, $55 and $75.

Single tickets for all other Clay Center Presents 2008-2009 performances are now on sale. With special events Chelsea Handler and LeAnn Rimes and popular acts like Blood, Sweat & Tears, Don McLean, Capitol Steps and more, this season offers a great variety of shows. Tickets start at just $15 for most regular season shows and can be purchased online at www.theclaycenter.org, in person at the Clay Center box office or by phone at 304-561-3570.
